The Tritone is a third generation Mark III passenger submarine designed and built in Finland for the tourist market. Its size has been optimised to carry 46 passengers and a crew of 2 persons on sightseeing expeditions beneath the sea to a maximum depth of 75 m.

The prime consideration of design in any submarine is safety and reliable operation. In addition to this the Mark III submarine has been designed to integrate the following concepts:
-    excellent sea bed view using large diameter flat viewports ?800mm
-    air conditioned passenger compartment
-    easy access through two large diameter hatches
-    spacious cabin with a good center aisle, comfortable seats, personal infopanel and a separate TV-monitor in front of each viewport
-    good manoeuvrability due to six 15 kW thrusters
-    external powerful spotlights for exciting night dives
-    good battery capacity for 8 - 10 dives per day
